Erin Shields - soprano
A graduate of the Indiana University School of Music, Erin also studied voice in Vienna, Austria. She started her professional career at age 17 when she sang the National Anthem for Michael Jordan & The Chicago Bulls. Since then, her vocal versatility has allowed her to perform a number of different genres all over the country.
She has performed leading roles for many reputable music festivals, opera companies and orchestras. Most notable roles: Eliza in My Fair Lady, Baker’s Wife in Into the Woods, Chava in Fiddler on the Roof (Natchez Festival of Music), Okugata in A Story of Three Women (Harmonia Opera, James Demster, cond.), Musetta in Puccini’s La Bohème, Gianetta in Donizetti’s L’elisir d’amore (Opera Intimo, CT), Ramiro in Mozart’s La finta giardiniera (The Little Opera Theater of NY), covered the role of The Mother in Menotti’s Amahl & the Night Visitors at Avery Fisher Hall, Lincoln Center (The Little Orchestra Society, Dino Anagnost, cond.) and performed the role of Marina Vlady in the world premiere of Let Us Fly, the life and music of Vladimir Vysotsky, working with TONY Award Winner Larry Hochman (Book of Mormon on Broadway) and director Moni Yakim (Jacques Brel is Alive & Well - Off-Broadway) at the 92nd St Y in New York City.
In 2011, Erin placed as one of the top five grand finalists in the American Traditions Competition in Savannah, Georgia. She has performed for many charitable organizations, including the Global AIDS Alliance at Joe's Pub, NYC along with the Brick Church School’s African Dream Academy benefit hosted by news icon Katie Couric.
She has sung numerous times with the New York Philharmonic Orchestra including Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony, Verdi’s Requiem and Mendelssohn’s Midsummer Night's Dream starring Marcia Gay Harden and Campbell Scott and worked with such renowned conductors as Neeme Järvi, Sir John Elliott Gardner, Sir Neville Marriner and Leon Botstein. David Shenton - Piano, violin, arrangements, back-up vocals
David Shenton is an English pianist, violinist, composer, and arranger based in New York City. As pianist/music director David has worked with renowned members of the music profession in all genres, including Vanessa Williams, Tony Bennett, Norm Lewis, Zach Levi, Sierra Boggess, Denyce Graves, Alfie Bøe, Renée Fleming, Sherrill Milnes, Marilyn Maye, Liz Callaway, Sir André Previn, Michael Feinstein, Amanda McBroom, Katie Couric, Alan Menken, Stephen Schwartz, and a close working collaborative relationship with lyricist Martin Charnin (creator and lyricist of, among many others, Annie).
A prolific arranger, David has worked for Abbey Road & CTS Studios (London), on Hollywood movies, West End & Broadway shows. He arranged/orchestrated the music for Howard Blake's The Snowman, which has run in the West End since 1998, and has orchestrated several shows in Germany, as well as the newest musical by the 'Annie' team, Robin Hood' The Untold Story. In August 2013 David created and orchestrated the original arrangements for a new and exciting group, Opus X, whose début album featured special guest, trumpeter Chris Botti.
David began writing music at the age of 9 and has written hundreds of pieces including a symphony, 2 piano concertos, 2 violin concertos and 2 string quartets all composed before the age of 11. David’s CDs are widely available and his solo piano CD, Sunnyside Blues, has won high acclaim as well as several awards. David’s ballet, Ascension, was commissioned by The Pendulum Aerial Dance Company in Portland (OR), who performs this work frequently. David wrote his first film score for Franc Reyes' drama, Beauty, which was screened in Hollywood, Miami and New York.
David teaches extensively and, as a coach, accompanist and teaching professor, has been on the faculties of NYU, The New School, The Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute, was visiting professor of violin and piano at St. Thomas Choir School for 4 years, and is entering his sixth year as the Music Director at Grace Church School in Manhattan. He is also a composer in residence in the advanced class of the BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theater Workshop.
Born in Rotherham (South Yorkshire), England, David studied violin and piano at The Royal College of Music, London from where he graduated with the highest honours.
Michael Kelly - baritone
Michael is a graduate of the Eastman School of Music and The Juilliard School, and was a member of the Opernstudio at Opernhaus Zürich. Praised as “expressive and dynamic” and “vocally splendid”, American baritone Michael Kelly continues to distinguish himself as a consummate artist, sought-after for his riveting interpretations of recital, concert and operatic repertoire.
Recently, Mr. Kelly made debuts at Carnegie Hall, with the New World Symphony, Alabama Symphony and the Cincinnati May Festival. He performed Bernstein’s Mass with the Mostly Mozart Festival under the baton of Louis Langré, and gave a world premier of a new chamber piece by David Del Treidici at NY’s Symphony Space. In recent seasons he has been heard in Schubert’s Die Schöne Müllerin with celebrated guitarist David Leisner, the role of Figaro in Barber of Seville, Papageno in Mozart's Magic Flute, Brahms’ Ein Deutsches Requiem, and the title role in the NY premier of Carlyle Floyd’s newest opera Prince of Players.
Captivating audiences with his “exquisitely self-effacing” artistry, Mr. Kelly is a versatile and innovative vocalist, having performed with many of America’s leading orchestras and opera companies, including: The Cleveland Orchestra, Detroit Symphony, Houston Symphony, Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, The Mostly Mozart Festival, Opernhaus Zurich, Chicago Opera Theater, Gotham Chamber Opera, Mark Morris Dance Group, Boston Early Music Festival and Ars Lyrica. He made his European debut with Opernhaus Zürich in Handel’s Rinaldo with William Christie and his French debut with Opéra du Châtelet. Adam Cannedy - baritone
Hailed for his “sonorous and secure voice” (Opera Today), baritone Adam Cannedy is quickly making his way on opera stages across the country. A champion of contemporary opera, Mr. Cannedy has collaborated with and performed for living composers including Carlisle Floyd, Ned Rorem, Oliver Knussen, William Bolcom, Stephen Paulus, Simon Sargon, Richard Wargo, Peter Ash, Tom Cipullo, and Philip Glass. Highlights of his work in contemporary opera include Oliver Knussen's Where the Wild Things Are (role of Rooster Wild Thing) as a guest artist with the Tanglewood Music Center's Contemporary Music Festival and his subsequent Lincoln Center debut with New York City Opera; the staged premiere of William Bolcom's Lucrezia (Chucho); Stephen Paulus's The Postman Always Rings Twice (Frank Chambers); the world premiere of Simon Sargon’s The Singing Violin (Baron Frederick); the world premiere of Peter Ash'sThe Golden Ticket (Oompa Loompa) with Opera Theatre of St. Louis; and the European premieres of both The Golden Ticket and Richard Wargo's Winners(Ballad Singer) during the 2010 season of Ireland's Wexford Festival Opera, the occasion of Mr. Cannedy's European debut.
Throughout 2016, Mr. Cannedy continued to explore American opera of all vintages, beginning with his role debut as LeBlanc in the revival of Goodwin and Rice's 1874 American opera buffa Evangeline with the Longfellow Chorus in Portland, Maine. He joined Light Opera of New York to perform the role of Otis Hooper in Jerome Kern's Sally, a production recorded by Albany Records. (Albany Records has also recorded and released Mr. Cannedy's Light Opera of New York debut engagement as John Blake in Victor Herbert's The Only Girl.) In October 2016, Mr. Cannedy joined the Center for Contemporary Opera for the world premiere of Louis Karchin's Jane Eyre, in which he performed the roles of Mason and Mr. Briggs. In 2017, Mr. Cannedy made his debut with Opera San Jose in Puts' and Campbell's Pulitzer-Prize winning opera Silent Night; two other role debuts in 2017 included that of Older Thompson in Tom Cipullo's Glory Denied with Opera Upper West and Count Almaviva in Darius Milhaud's The Guilty Mother with On Site Opera in New York.
In recent seasons, Mr. Cannedy has enjoyed a particularly strong affiliation with Opera Omaha, joining the company as Bello in La fanciulla del West, Fiorello in Il barbiere di Siviglia, Marullo in Rigoletto, and Moralès in Carmen. He has joined Atlanta Opera as Marullo in Rigoletto and Le Dancaïre in Carmen, Lyric Opera of Virginia also as Le Dancaïre, and First Coast Opera as Masetto in Don Giovanni. Mr. Cannedy has fulfilled artist apprenticeships with Virginia Opera, Lyric Opera of Virginia, Opera Theatre of St. Louis, Central City Opera, and Opera North. He was a 2011 prize winner in the Birmingham Opera Competition, a finalist in the Dallas Opera Guild Competition, and most recently won the People's Choice Award at the American Traditions Competition in Savannah, GA.

Brian Giebler - tenor

From Evangelist in Bach’s St. Matthew Passion with the GRAMMY®-nominated Choir of Trinity Wall Street under Julian Wachner to Stravinsky with The Cleveland Orchestra under Franz Welser-Möst, “the sweetness of Giebler's impressive high tenor” and his "expressive and elegant phrasing" (Cleveland Classical) has captivated audiences around the country. Recent seasons' highlights include solo engagements with The Cleveland Orchestra (Severance Hall); Virginia Symphony Orchestra; Syracuse Symphoria; American Classical Orchestra (Lincoln Center); Mark Morris Dance Group (Lincoln Center, Mostly Mozart Festival); Musica Sacra (Carnegie Hall, Handel's Messiah), Handel & Hadyn Society (Jordan Hall); Clarion Music Society; Trinity Baroque Orchestra; and the Oregon, Baldwin Wallace, Carmel, and Victoria Bach Festivals. An active crossover artist, “the dashing Giebler, whose voice would make anyone melt” (BroadwayWorld), received much critical acclaim as Marius in a regional production of Les Misérables and was nominated for a 2014 Gregory Award (Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Musical) for his performance. In 2018, Brian was thrilled to revisit the role of Jack in Into the Woods with Charlottesville Opera, where he was lauded for "his spotless tenor vocals (that were) a highlight of the production" (BroadwayWorld). The role also won Brian a regional Best Supporting Actor award at the 2005 Anvil Awards. Brian was also praised for his portrayal of Fabrizio in Adam Guettel's The Light in the Piazza (Best Musical nomination, 2011 Wilde Awards), being hailed as a “powerful tenor for such a young man” (Milan News). He has played such iconic roles as Dickon in The Secret Garden, Cain/Japheth in Children of Eden, and Nicely Nicely Johnson in Guys and Dolls. Brian covered the roles of Tony in West Side Story (Aspen), Anthony in Sweeney Todd (Aspen), and Lt. Cable in South Pacific with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra.
Brian performs with chamber ensembles throughout the country, includingGRAMMY® Award-winning Conspirare of Austin, GRAMMY® nominated Seraphic Fire of Miami, GRAMMY® nominated Clarion Music Society in NYC, and he is a member of the GRAMMY® nominated Choir of Trinity Wall Street in Manhattan, where he currently resides. He can be heard frequently with the Handel and Haydn Society in Boston, Ekmeles, TENET, True Concord Artists, Yale Choral Artists, Spire Chamber Ensemble, Musica Sacra, and Sounding Light. While living in Seattle, Brian was a member of the Seattle Opera Chorus where he performed Puccini’s La Bohème and Wagner's Götterdämmerung.
In 2010, Brian was seen on Philadelphia’s Fox 29 News as the 2010 Delco Idol musical theater competition winner at the Media Theatre in Pennsylvania. He was also a featured artist with the Skaneateles Music Festival in “Broadway comes to Brook Farm” under guest musical director Paul Sportelli. In Seattle, he had the pleasure of singing with the Pacific Northwest Ballet Orchestra in their 2012 Holiday production of the Seattle-favorite, The Nutty Nutcracker, inserting classical music and popular Christmas tunes over top of the sweeping Tchaikovsky score.
At a graduate student at the University of Michigan, Brian performed as Ferrando in Cosi fan Tutte and as Bardolfo in Falstaff. He has also sung the roles of Basilio in Mozart’s Le Nozze Di Figaro, Pedrillo in Die Entführung aus dem Serail, and Dr. Blind in Die Fledermaus. Brian made his international debut in Italy with the International Opera Theater of Philadelphia, premiering the operatic adaptation of Shakespeare’s La Tempesta as Ariele.
A little known fact about Brian is his expertise on trumpet. At Eastman, Brian studied in the trumpet department as a primary student and performed with the internationally acclaimed Eastman Wind Ensemble. He also performed with the Eastman Lab Jazz Band, University of Rochester Symphony Orchestra and Wind Ensemble, University of Maryland Concert Band, Philadelphia Youth Orchestra at Verizon Hall, and the University of the Arts Regional Grammy Jazz Band. In the pit, Brian played for Les Miserables (Media Theatre), Cabaret, and Assassins (Eastman).
Brian is a graduate of the University of Michigan, where he earned his masters degree in Vocal Performance. He is also an alumnus of the Royal Academy of Music in London, England, and holds a bachelors degree in Vocal Performance from the Eastman School of Music. He spent two summers (2011, 2012) as a Young Artist with the Aspen Opera Theater Center.
